Air Canada partnered with LifeSpeak to:

  • Support employee mental health and psychological safety through on-demand education and expert guidance.
  • Offer accessible, evidence-based resources to employees and their families worldwide.

Introduction

Taking a comprehensive approach to employee health and wellbeing

Air Canada recognizes that employees are the foundation of its success and that their health and wellbeing directly impact the organization’s performance and customer experience. To support its diverse workforce, the company offers a robust suite of health and wellness resources that address the full spectrum of employee needs — from physical and mental health to financial and social wellbeing.

Air Canada’s Occupational Health and Wellbeing team spearheads initiatives that promote psychological safety and reduce stigma around mental health in the workplace. Programs include the Air Canada Wellbeing Hub, Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), peer support networks, mental health first aid training, and LifeSpeak.

The Challenge

Provide mental health support that meets the needs of a large, diverse, and geographically dispersed workforce

Air Canada’s employees span the globe and work in a wide range of roles — from pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance technicians to customer service agents and corporate staff. The organization wanted to ensure that every employee and their families had equitable access to mental health resources no matter where they were located or what shift they worked.

The Solution

LifeSpeak — Providing trusted, on-demand mental health resources for employees and families

Air Canada partnered with LifeSpeak to complement its existing mental health programs with a digital solution that provides employees and their families with on-demand access to expert-led education and support whenever and wherever they need it.

Through LifeSpeak, employees can learn from world-renowned experts on topics such as stress management, sleep, mindfulness, relationships, and work-life balance. Content is available in multiple formats, including videos, podcasts, and tip sheets, to accommodate different learning styles and time constraints.

Marie-Josée Chartrand, Director of Occupational Health and Wellbeing at Air Canada, explains: “LifeSpeak is an important part of our comprehensive wellness strategy. It provides credible information and guidance that our employees can trust. Whether someone is looking for quick tips to manage stress or in-depth resources on specific topics, LifeSpeak offers a variety of ways to learn and grow.”

Air Canada promotes LifeSpeak through its Wellbeing Hub and ongoing wellness campaigns, ensuring employees are aware of the resources available to them.
